Autobid FAQs

Autobid FAQs

Q. Will I automatically be charged the maximum CPC that I set?

A. No, the system only increases your bid as much as necessary to regain your target position. But, in competitive scenarios, your bid could approach your max CPC.

Also, if Autobid estimates that your max bid would be insufficient to achieve your target ranking, it will only increase your bid for as long as it would result in a position gain. For example:

  • Let’s say Vendor A is in 1st place with a bid of $50, Vendor B is in 2nd place with a bid of $45, and Vendor C is in 3rd place with a bid of $40.

  • Vendor C enables Autobid with a target position of 1st place and a max bid of $49.

  • Autobid will increase Vendor C’s bid to $45.50 in order to claim 2nd place, but it will not increase it any further, as it recognises that their max of $49 will not be enough to take 1st place.

Q. How does the rate limiting work?

A. Autobid can only be triggered successfully three times per day to help prevent excessive cost increases during rapid bidding shifts. Position gains as a result of manual bid increases do not count towards this limit.

Q. Can I be notified of Autobid activity?

A. Yes. Daily Autobid activity emails summarize:
  • Which listicle Autobid was triggered on
  • How your bid changed
  • Whether you regained your target position
These emails are sent separately from outbid notification emails.
